Hon. Temitope Adewale, Lagos lawmaker, commends President Bola Tinubu’s administration for significant strides in poverty reduction and economic growth, citing improved economic indices and project spread.

[dropcap]H[/dropcap]on. Temitope Adewale, representing Ifako-Ijaye 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s administration for its commendable Tinubu poverty reduction efforts, which he believes are yielding positive results across Nigeria.

Speaking after a recent courtesy visit to the President in Lagos, Adewale highlighted the steady growth indicated by current economic indices.

In a statement released by his media office on Monday, Adewale congratulated President Tinubu on his second year in office, emphasising that the government deserves commendation for working to ensure that Nigerians heave a sigh of relief.

The lawmaker noted the widespread distribution of projects across all 36 states, designed with the ultimate aim of improving citizens’ lives.

It was a son’s visit to his father, Adewale remarked, reflecting on his interaction with the President.

He remains a father I am proud to associate myself with and I can tell you that the President needs to be praised.

We had very fruitful discussions and I am happy that the President is excited about the progress of the country.

The story continues to change as promised and as contained in the President’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda Adewale asserted.

Adewale further detailed President Tinubu’s satisfaction with the nation’s rapid advancements in Economic, Social, Financial and infrastructural rejuvenation

He particularly praised the President’s personal qualities, stating, What strikes me about the President is not the formality of the visit, but the simplicity of his presence.

Asiwaju’s humility, warm laughter, ability to listen and speak from the heart remind me that true leadership goes beyond titles. It’s about how you make people feel.

The lawmaker underscored the administration’s success in stabilising the Nigerian currency, a significant achievement compared to past foreign exchange market volatility.

In two years, the Nigerian currency has remained stable as against the usual tension for which the foreign exchange market had been known, he said.

You can see that the administration continues to tighten every noose that seemed to have made our economy porous in the past.

Adewale also pointed to the revitalisation of local fuel refining for domestic consumption and recent incentives announced by the President to boost technical education, as clear indicators of progress.

He argued that the country is experiencing a desired breadth  compared to the challenges inherited in 2023, which included a sharp decline in foreign direct investment and escalating debt servicing costs.

He concluded by highlighting improved allocations for governors, irrespective of party lines, as a reason for increased cross-party support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), adding, President Tinubu is poised to meet the yearnings of the citizens.
