Mohbad’s driver reveals shocking details about the singer’s final hours, including fights with wife and Prime Boy before his death, sparking new public reactions
Fidelis Idabo, the driver who transported late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, to his final show in Ikorodu, has shared detailed and emotional revelations about the hours leading up to the artist’s untimely death.

Mohbad, 27, passed away on 12 September 2023, just two days after the D’General Bitters show, which turned out to be his last performance.
Since then, the events surrounding his death have remained clouded in controversy, prompting police investigations and multiple arrests, including those of singer Prime Boy and record label boss Naira Marley.
In February 2025, both men were cleared by a Lagos magistrate court.
In a new interview posted by social activist VeryDarkMan on YouTube, Mr Idabo recounted what transpired before, during, and after the show.
He said he had only been hired for that day and was with the singer and his entourage for over 12 hours. “I arrived at Mohbad’s house around noon, and we got back by 1:00 a.m. the next day,” he said.
According to the driver, tensions were high even before they left for the show.
“Mohbad and his wife Wunmi were already arguing. I didn’t understand everything because they spoke in Yoruba, but the mood was tense,” he explained.
Idabo also stated that they stopped briefly at City of David to meet socialite Cubana Chief Priest before continuing their journey.
He said the arguing between the couple resumed once they got to Ikorodu and that Wunmi even stepped out of the vehicle at one point. “Mohbad pleaded with her to return,” he recalled.
Upon reaching the venue, area boys demanded money from the singer, which led to further agitation. “Mohbad didn’t have cash. While we were trying to handle that, he and his wife were still at it. He wanted to fight the boys, but I advised against it. Prime Boy told me to stay out of it,” the driver said.

He revealed that Mohbad’s wife sent N71,000 for fuel, which he went to withdraw with one of Mohbad’s crew.
However, on their return, things escalated again.
“One of the boys refused to give the area boys the amount Mohbad intended. They started hitting the car again, which angered him.”
He continued, “Mohbad tried to get out and confront them, but Prime Boy held him back. In frustration, Mohbad hit Prime Boy with the car door. He later began punching Prime Boy until the car’s glass broke.”
Idabo made it clear that Prime Boy never fought back. “He just bowed his head and took the beating,” he said.
The incident concluded with Prime Boy fleeing the scene and seeking refuge inside the venue, where soldiers provided protection.
Cubana Chief Priest later confronted Mohbad, who reportedly shouted, “I would kill Prime Boy.”
Wunmi defended Prime Boy, stating he had done nothing wrong. However, Idabo expressed disapproval over how Mohbad’s wife treated him on the ride home.
“She insulted him badly. She asked, ‘What does he even have?’ and accused him of borrowing money from her mother. She dragged his clothes, demanding repayment. If I were Mohbad, I would have beaten her,” the driver remarked candidly.
