According to a report delivered to the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC), petrol sold in June at an average pump price of ₦905 per litre, with prices ranging between ₦885 and ₦925.

NMDPRA data reveals that ₦411.9 billion worth of petrol was dispatched directly from national refineries, while the remaining ₦891.9 billion came from depots.

Refinery off-take averaged approximately 15 million litres per day, while depot distribution hit 35 million litres per day.

Total off-take:

  • Refineries: 455.2 million litres in June
  • Depots: 985.6 million litres in June

This represents an 18.55% increase from May’s 1.22 billion litres.

Average daily supply:

  • June: 48 million litres
  • May: 54 million litres

Truck movements:

  • May: ~37,000 trucks
  • June: ~32,000 trucks

For automotive gas oil (diesel or AGO), June distributions dropped to 424 million litres from May’s 552 million litres.

Refineries supplied 54 million litres in June, while 370 million litres were sourced from depots.

The Nigerians spent N1.3 trillion on petrol in June story reflects rising energy demand and shifts in local fuel sourcing.
