VerveLife 8.0 teams up with Google Play to deliver Africa’s biggest fitness event, with massive rewards and epic city tours across 3 countries

VerveLife 8.0, Africa’s biggest and most celebrated fitness event, has secured a major partnership with Google Play as it prepares for its highly anticipated 2025 edition.

The announcement marks a significant evolution in Verve’s collaboration with the Google ecosystem, aligning both brands in their shared mission to promote healthier, more rewarding lifestyles across the continent.

Now in its eighth year, VerveLife has grown into Verve’s flagship lifestyle and consumer engagement platform.

With over 14,000 annual participants across Nigeria, Kenya, and Uganda, the event has become a continent-wide symbol of community, wellness, and high-energy fitness culture.

The 2025 edition, themed “Elev8”, promises to push boundaries even further, featuring intense workout sessions, dance marathons, wellness challenges, and a grand after-party celebration.

According to Cherry Eromosele, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Communications at Interswitch Group, VerveLife 8.0 is poised to be the most exhilarating edition yet.

“We are thrilled to take VerveLife to new heights this year. Our partnership with Google Play reinforces our commitment to crafting unforgettable experiences that connect with Africa’s vibrant fitness community,” she said.

Participants can expect complimentary merchandise, exclusive rewards, and exciting giveaways, thanks to the synergy between VerveLife 8.0 and Google Play.

The fitness tour will stop in key African cities: Enugu on 30 August, Ibadan on 13 September, Abuja on 27 September, Kampala and Nairobi during October, and will culminate at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos on 1 November 2025.

Google Play’s Head of Retail and Payment Partnerships, Anthea Crawford, highlighted the broader impact of this partnership: “This collaboration not only simplifies payment options but builds a more inclusive digital environment for millions of users.”

The initiative builds on Verve and Google’s earlier partnership, which enabled Nigerian cardholders to make direct purchases on the Google Play Store and YouTube — a milestone that improved access to digital content and apps.
