Lagos APC says the South West remains solidly behind President Tinubu ahead of 2027, dismissing opposition claims as political theatrics
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has declared that the South West region will stand firmly behind President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

The party’s spokesman, Mr Seye Oladejo, made this known in a statement on Saturday while reacting to comments attributed to supporters of Dr Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, a presidential aspirant under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), suggesting that the South West would not re-elect Tinubu.
Oladejo dismissed the claims as baseless, saying Olawepo-Hashim lacked the political structure and influence to challenge the President.
“Olawepo-Hashim is a perennial aspirant and convenient mascot for opposition desperation. He may parade endorsements in tiny rallies and press statements, but endorsements on photocopied letterheads do not translate to votes,” Oladejo said.
He described the PDP as a “free-falling party bankrupt of depth in both human and material resources,” adding that Tinubu would “crush all who gang up against his reelection in 2027.”
Oladejo also criticised attempts to undermine Tinubu’s record, saying the current administration is laying “visible and irreversible foundations across infrastructure, education, agriculture, security, and fiscal reforms.”
“Those who traffic in selective statistics and currency rhetoric do so because they cannot defend the alternative a return to the waste and economic mismanagement that nearly extinguished our nation’s potential,” he said.
He urged the opposition to stop converting “press releases into governance competence,” insisting that Nigerians would vote for “continuity with a president who has delivered direction and results.”

Oladejo concluded that the South West will not abandon its own for “a project of theatrical ambition without substance.”
