Jigawa Police arrested 105 suspects and seized thousands of illicit drugs in a sweeping crackdown on drug trafficking across the state

Jigawa Police have arrested no fewer than 105 suspects in a major anti-drug operation carried out across the state, marking one of the biggest crackdowns on drug trafficking in recent months.

The arrests were confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, during a press briefing on Tuesday at the command headquarters in Dutse, the state capital.

Adam revealed that the coordinated raids targeted hotspots and criminal hideouts known for drug-related activities. He said officers “left no stone unturned” in their mission to rid Jigawa of illicit substances.

During the operation, police recovered more than 5,000 units of various hard drugs and intoxicating substances, including cannabis and several prescription pills frequently abused in the region.

According to the police spokesperson, the seized items included 2,541 units of Exol, 1,146 units of D-5, 270 packets of Tramadol, and over 1,000 wraps of cannabis, including one block.

Other confiscated substances were 269 units of Diaxer, 153 Pregabalin capsules, and 82 units of Farin Malam.

Additionally, officers recovered N92,460 in cash, along with other intoxicants such as rubber solution, suck and die, and Dry Gin.

“This operation sends a strong and clear message to those involved in drug trafficking,” Adam said. “Our command remains fully committed to eradicating the menace and will continue to work tirelessly to ensure a safer society.”

He urged residents to support the police by reporting suspicious activities, noting that community cooperation remains vital in the ongoing fight against narcotics.
