Omoluabi progressives strengthen unity in Osun

Omoluabi Progressives reaffirm unity and strength in Osun as Aregbesola rallies members ahead of the 2026 ADC governorship primaries

Omoluabi Progressives demonstrated renewed strength and unity on Sunday, November 2, 2025, as thousands of members and supporters gathered in Ilesa, Osun State, for another strategic meeting of the influential political movement.

The gathering, filled with enthusiasm and conviction, reflected the growing influence of the group within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Members described it as a moment of reflection and resolve — a testament to the enduring spirit of true progressivism rooted in integrity, service, and people-centred governance.

Addressing the assembly, former Osun State Governor and ADC General Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, commended the steadfastness of the Omoluabi Progressives over the past two years.

He described the movement as a disciplined force guided by the vision of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and committed to promoting the Omoluabi ethos across the nation.

“The Omoluabi Progressives have shown uncommon loyalty and resilience,” Aregbesola said. “We are not just a political group; we are a moral movement determined to return Osun to responsible leadership and genuine governance.”

The meeting also featured discussions on the criteria for selecting an aspirant ahead of the 2026 ADC governorship primaries.

Members unanimously agreed on transparent processes that reflect the group’s values and the wishes of the people.

In a notable development, the State Membership Mobilisation, Revalidation, and Registration Committee from the ADC National Headquarters, led by Hon. Kamil Akinlade, officially informed the group of its readiness to commence registration activities in Osun.

Aregbesola encouraged members to actively participate in the registration, upcoming constituency tours, and congresses leading up to the December 12 shadow election.

He assured that the ADC remains the “party to beat” in the coming polls, citing its superior organisation and people-focused agenda.

“Our commitment is clear,” Aregbesola added. “The Omoluabi Progressives will not rest until Osun stands as a beacon of progress and accountability once again.”

The meeting concluded with the induction of new members from across various political parties, further expanding the group’s base and influence in Osun’s evolving political landscape.
