Kano police investigation begins after two women are killed and their home set ablaze in Tudun Yola, prompting a search for those responsible.

Kano police investigation has begun following the shocking killing of two women in Tudun Yola Quarters, Gwale Local Government Area, where their home was also set ablaze on Wednesday.

The Kano State Police Command, through its spokesperson CSP Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Saturday and assured that detectives are working to uncover the truth behind the disturbing attack.

Haruna stated that the investigation is ongoing and that the command is determined to establish the cause of the grim event.

The victims, identified as Hauwa’u Yakubu and Zahra’u Aliyu, were both wives of Alhaji Ashiru Shu’aibu Usaini.

A family source said early findings suggest that one of the women was stabbed before the fire erupted, while the second was later discovered dead in the bathroom.

Their stepson, Anas Shu’aibu, said the incident happened around midday while the husband and children were away from home.

He explained that one body was recovered from the burnt section of the house, while the other victim was found lifeless behind a locked bathroom door that had to be forced open.

The grieving husband has appealed to authorities to ensure that those behind the killing are swiftly apprehended.

His plea comes amid heightened concern over rising violent crimes in Kano, especially following the arrest in May of the principal suspect in the murder of 22-year-old Rumaisa Haruna in Farawa Quarters.

The unfolding details of the latest case have sparked anxiety among residents, who describe the attack as a chilling and deeply painful moment for the community.

Police have assured that the Kano police investigation will leave no stone unturned as officers pursue every lead in the quest for justice.

The command reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and restoring calm, insisting that the perpetrators of this wicked act will be brought to book.
