ADC Mobilisation intensifies as Aregbesola leads Osun tour, criticising governance failures and urging grassroots support
Supporters of the African Democratic Congress surged into the ancient palace of the Orangun of Ila Orangun today as the ADC Mobilisation effort took centre stage in Osun State.

Led by former governor Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, thousands of party loyalists gathered to launch the ADC’s nine-federal-constituency tour aimed at strengthening grassroots engagement ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Speaking in Yoruba, Aregbesola told the crowd that the central pillars of governance in Nigeria had collapsed, citing worsening insecurity, declining infrastructure, failing education systems and a weakened economy.
He said a government cannot claim moral integrity when its citizens are hungry and suffering, adding that national icons such as Obafemi Awolowo would be displeased by the country’s present condition.
He declared that Nigerians had rejected the current leadership, arguing that the administration had failed across all indicators of governance.
He said that for two years nothing had worked and that the situation amounted to a woeful performance in public service.
Aregbesola explained that the statewide tour was designed to rekindle public awareness and mobilise increasing support for the ADC.
He described the party as one committed to restoring responsible leadership and effective governance. He said government policies had deepened poverty, hardship and hunger for millions.
He criticised the federal government’s priorities, noting that Nigeria has 37,000 kilometres of federal roads, more than 76 percent of which he described as not motorable.
He questioned the focus on a coastal highway rather than repairing damaged roads that affect daily life and economic productivity.
The former governor insisted that the administration had underperformed in security, the economy and education, which he described as the core components of good governance. He said these are the failings the ADC intends to correct.
Reflecting on his tenure in Osun, he highlighted initiatives such as school feeding for over 50,000 children, youth empowerment programmes reaching more than 60,000 young people and a range of welfarist policies that he said improved lives.
He urged supporters to help return such policies to the state by voting for the ADC in 2026.
Aregbesola encouraged residents to participate actively in the party’s membership registration exercise, which will be inaugurated tomorrow in Ilesa.
He told supporters to take the party’s message to communities across the Ila Federal Constituency.
The tour marks a significant phase in the ADC’s expanding grassroots strategy.

It will continue on Thursday, 20 November 2025, with visits to the Ayedaade, Irewole and Isokan Federal Constituency.
