Senator Mudashiru Husain responds to the Osun APC directive, seeking clarity after elders’ guidance and form sale developments
Senator Mudashiru Oyetunde Husain, an All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in Osun State, said in Osogbo on 27 November that the Osun APC directive issued by the party’s Elders’ Caucus earlier this month had guided his actions throughout the initial stage of the 2026 governorship process.

Husain said he complied fully with the instruction from the caucus chaired by Engr. Sola Akinwumi, which advised aspirants to await the report of a screening panel before purchasing forms.
Husain explained that he honoured the 14 November communique by refraining from procuring Expression of Interest and Nomination forms and presenting himself instead before the Screening Committee led by Prof. Isaac Adewole.
He described the gesture as a matter of principle rooted in the discipline and hierarchical respect that shaped his political development.
The senator said he was surprised to learn that the sale of forms had closed and that some aspirants had already obtained theirs despite the elders’ guidance.
He added that he immediately notified senior party officials to seek clarification, stressing that his intention was to align procedure rather than challenge any individual’s decisions.
Husain reaffirmed what he called his total loyalty to the party and unwavering regard for the Igbimo-Agba.
He urged his supporters to remain calm and patient, describing the situation as one that required unity and restraint.
He said the party’s internal structures remained capable of addressing any concerns fairly and efficiently.
The aspirant noted that his Irorun Dé agenda, a platform focused on stability and renewed prosperity for Osun State, remained on course.
He said the moment called for thoughtful engagement and steadfast confidence in the party’s leadership, which he described as a powerful anchor for the progressive tradition.
