FCTA revokes 1,095 property titles, Ganduje and Jonathan affected

FCTA revokes 1,095 property titles over unpaid charges, affecting Ganduje, Patience Jonathan, and other high-profile property owners in Abuja

According to a public notice signed by the FCTA management, the affected properties are located in high-brow districts including Asokoro, Maitama, Garki, and Wuse.

Enforcement actions commenced after the expiration of the final 14-day grace period on 25 November 2025.

The FCTA revealed that 835 properties defaulted on ground rent payments, while 260 failed to pay violation fees and land use conversion charges.

Among those affected are Abdullahi Ganduje, former governor of Kano State; Patience Jonathan, wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan; Donald Duke, former governor of Cross River State; David Mark, former Senate President; and Iyiola Omisore, former deputy governor of Osun State.

The administration has stressed that the enforcement is part of ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with statutory obligations and maintain proper land administration across the Territory.

Officials urged affected property owners to settle outstanding charges promptly to avoid further penalties or legal actions.

The move reflects the FCTA’s renewed commitment to enforcing land-use regulations and addressing longstanding non-compliance among both private individuals and corporate entities in the Federal Capital Territory.
