Okpebholo urges APC unity in Osun as the party prepares for its governorship primary and eyes victory in the 2026 election

Edo State Governor and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Primary Election Committee, Monday Okpebholo, on Friday night in Osogbo, Osun State, called on members of the All Progressives Congress to unite and reclaim the state in the 2026 governorship election.

Monday Okpebholo made the appeal while addressing party leaders and stakeholders at a meeting held at the APC secretariat, as the party prepared for its governorship primary scheduled for Saturday.

The Edo State Governor said the gathering reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to democratic principles and internal discipline at a critical moment for the party in Osun State.

Monday Okpebholo announced that the primary election would be conducted through affirmation, adding that all 1,660 accredited delegates would be screened before being granted access to the venue.

“I want to appeal for unity in the APC after the primary,” Monday Okpebholo said.

“You must not allow internal bitterness to weaken our contest after tomorrow’s affirmation.”

The Chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee described unity as decisive to the party’s chances, urging members to remain focused on the larger objective of regaining political control of the state.

“We must return Osun State to the Progressive fold next year,” Monday Okpebholo said.

“You must all work together and be united in purpose.”

Monday Okpebholo assured party members that the primary would be free, fair and transparent, in line with the mandate given to the committee by the National Working Committee of the APC.
