The Nigerian Air Force reports success in Zamfara airstrikes, destroying bandit hideouts and neutralising key criminal operations in Tsafe LGA

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced a major operational success following two precision air interdiction missions at Turba Hill and Kachalla Dogo Sule’s Camp in Tsafe Local Government Area.

According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the strikes were conducted on Sunday based on credible multi-source intelligence and targeted key bandit enclaves linked to recent attacks across the North-West.

Ejodame explained that the first strike at Turba Hill, a confirmed bandit hideout, destroyed a zinc-roofed structure central to the enclave’s operations. Post-strike assessments confirmed total destruction of the target and the neutralisation of several bandits.

The second mission hit Kachalla Dogo Sule’s Camp, described as a notorious IED manufacturing and operational hub linked to attacks along the Dan Sadau–Magami axis. Multiple active structures were engaged, triggering intense fires that destroyed the facilities and neutralised several bandits, crippling the group’s IED production capacity.

“These operations dealt a significant blow to bandit networks in Zamfara, particularly their ability to manufacture and deploy improvised explosive devices,” Ejodame said.

He further emphasised that the missions reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment, in coordination with other components of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, to deny criminal elements freedom of action and support joint efforts to restore peace and security across the North-West and the nation.

The airstrikes represent the latest in ongoing counter-insurgency and anti-banditry operations across the region, signalling intensified efforts by Nigerian security agencies to safeguard communities and disrupt criminal networks.
