The announcement was made at the church’s Yaba, Lagos headquarters, a hub of charitable activities supporting widows, orphans, and indigent students, ahead of the widely publicised 10XBetter Convention 2026, scheduled for Saturday, January 31.
Dr. Hamilton revealed that the increase in prize money reflects the church’s commitment to supporting God-fearing, entrepreneurial members.
“Instead of just N500,000 to be won by five people, up to eight contestants will now win a total of N2,000,000! Five will win N100,000 each, while the best three business pitches will receive N500,000 each,” he said.
Finalists will present their pitches before four chartered accountants serving as judges during the convention.
Addressing why the church is launching such an initiative amid widespread negative media coverage of religious institutions, Dr. Hamilton said,
“It is sad that some folks merely run churches as shops, but we are focused on raising God-fearing, Kingdom-focused Christians to be successful, responsible, and Nigeria-conscious leaders, entrepreneurs, parents, and church volunteers, in strict accordance with God’s Holy Word.”
He noted that the TheVille Tycoon Business Pitch Challenge aligns with government efforts to grow small and medium-scale businesses and is supported by biblical teachings on wealth creation, citing Deuteronomy 8:18, Proverbs 10:4, Ecclesiastes 9:10, and Luke 14:28.
Dr. Hamilton concluded: “We are proudly Celestial in PraiseVille and are passionate about causing very positive mind shifts towards sound education, leadership, and entrepreneurship among Celestians.”
