The announcement was made by Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Habib, during a press briefing at the command headquarters on Wednesday.

Habib highlighted key operations between January 5 and February 3, 2026.

On January 5, police recovered a stolen Toyota Hilux belonging to a member of an emirate council in Bauchi after it was taken from Inkiya Filling Station along Jos Road.

On January 23, operatives attached to ‘A’ Division recovered a stolen army-green Honda Civic along the Bauchi- Jos road.

Two suspects, Muazu Abdulkarim, 32, and his girlfriend, Rukayya Muhammad, 22, were arrested. Investigations revealed the vehicle had been stolen from Kaduna State in December 2025 and returned to its rightful owner, a medical doctor in Jigawa State.

Other incidents included the recovery of a stolen tricycle from Isiyaka Mohammed on January 17 and the arrest of Ismail Mohammed, 20, on January 30 for conspiring to rob a tricycle in Bauchi.

Police also foiled a blockade attempt on the Bauchi-Gombe highway near Kalajanga hamlet on January 26, arresting siblings Isiya Nasiru, 20, and Umaru Nasiru, 18.

Items recovered included a charm bulletproof shirt, live ammunition, face masks, and phones.

In a high-profile operation on January 27, a combined police and local security team rescued kidnapping victims, neutralised one suspect, and arrested alleged kingpin Abdulkadir Adamu, 60.

Weapons and other items recovered included fabricated rifles, live cartridges, cutlasses, and mobile phones.

On January 28, Hassan Mijinyawa was arrested for impersonating a lawyer and forging an NBA stamp.

He has been arraigned before a Chief Magistrate Court, with his case adjourned to February 6, 2026.

The command also intercepted two suspects in Alkaleri Local Government Area on February 3, recovering 560 litres of petrol intended for bandits, as well as arms including AK-47 rifles, dane guns, and live ammunition.
