The timing coincides with the Sallah and Easter holiday season, offering families and history enthusiasts a unique cinematic experience.

Produced by Prince Jide Kosoko under the banner of Jide Kosoko Film Presentation, the film chronicles the reign of Oba Esugbayi Eleko, whose leadership symbolised dignity, defiance, and cultural pride during the colonial era.

The narrative highlights his struggles against colonial authorities, while also celebrating nationalist icons such as Herbert Macaulay, Chief Oluwa, and the women’s rights activist Alimotu Pelewura.

Direction is led by Adebayo Tijani, Tunde Olaoye, and Tunde Kosoko, whose combined vision brings authenticity, emotional depth, and cinematic grandeur to the story.

Speaking on the project, Kosoko described the film as a cultural mission, aiming to revolutionise historical storytelling in Nigerian cinema.

“From palace politics and market resistance to colonial intrigues and grassroots activism, the film reconnects audiences with the traditions, values, and resilience that define Lagos,” he said.
