Recent events including petrol price hikes and a secretariat fire are cited as fulfilment of prophecies by Primate Ayodele

Reports have highlighted several recent events said to align with earlier predictions by Nigerian cleric Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church.

According to reports published by Freelanews Nigeria, the cleric’s prophecies are often delivered as warnings intended to help individuals and institutions prevent negative occurrences if appropriate steps are taken.

However, the report claimed that such warnings are sometimes ignored, leading to their eventual fulfilment.

The publication noted that Ayodele frequently advises those who receive prophetic warnings to consult their personal pastors or prophets for spiritual guidance on how to avert the predicted events.

It further claimed that the cleric has recorded more than 20,000 fulfilled prophecies, supported by what it described as documented evidence.

Petrol price increase

One of the predictions cited relates to rising global petroleum prices. In his 2026 prophetic message released on 20 December 2025, Ayodele reportedly warned that crude oil prices would increase globally, a development that could affect petroleum prices in Nigeria.

Recent market developments have seen petrol prices surge past ₦1,000 per litre in parts of the country amid global energy tensions.

Federal Secretariat fire incident

Another prediction referenced concerns a fire outbreak at the Federal Secretariat Complex.

A fire incident was reported at the complex earlier in the day, affecting the fourth floor of Block C, which houses the National Board for Technology Incubation.

In his annual prophetic message, Ayodele had cautioned authorities to be vigilant to prevent possible fire outbreaks or attacks at federal secretariats.

Military salary increment

Ayodele was also reported to have predicted an increase in the salaries of Nigerian military personnel.

Recently, Bola Tinubu, President of Nigeria, announced the approval of a salary increment for members of the armed forces during an interfaith breaking-of-fast meeting with service chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Attack in Benin Republic

Another event cited as a fulfilment of Ayodele’s prophecy is a militant attack in Benin.

Reports indicate that suspected jihadist fighters linked to the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM), an affiliate of Al-Qaeda, carried out an attack on a military base in northern Benin, killing several soldiers.

The attack reportedly occurred near the border with Niger. Earlier in the month, Ayodele had warned during a church service that there could be an attack in Benin Republic and urged vigilance.
