Taiwo Adegbodu cause of death revealed as Kehinde Adegbodu recounts the gospel singer’s final moments before the sudden heart attack in Ibadan

Gospel singer Kehinde Adegbodu, one half of the popular Yoruba gospel music duo Adegbodu Twins, has revealed that his twin brother Taiwo Adegbodu died after suffering a sudden heart attack at their residence in Ibadan.

Kehinde Adegbodu disclosed the Taiwo Adegbodu cause of death while addressing a group of visitors who had gathered at their home following the singer’s sudden passing.

The revelation comes about a week after Taiwo Adegbodu’s death was first announced. Kehinde Adegbodu had confirmed the loss on Sunday, March 1, 2026, but did not immediately disclose what led to the tragedy.

Speaking in a video that has since circulated widely on social media, Kehinde Adegbodu said the late singer had not been ill before the incident.

Kehinde Adegbodu explained that both brothers had completed their usual evening routine of prayers at about 9pm on Saturday, February 28, before retiring to their separate rooms.

The gospel singer said Taiwo Adegbodu later returned to his door shortly before 11pm, complaining of severe chest pain.

“We went to our separate rooms after our every night routine prayers at 9pm on Saturday February 28,” Kehinde Adegbodu said.

“He came to knock at my door at 10:55pm that he was having chest pains, and I drove him to the hospital immediately and he died a few minutes later. He was never sick.”

The heartbreaking account has stirred emotional reactions among fans and members of the gospel music community, many of whom had admired the powerful performances delivered by the Adegbodu Twins over the years.

Taiwo Adegbodu and Kehinde Adegbodu were widely recognised in Yoruba gospel circles for their energetic stage presence and harmonious musical partnership, making the sudden loss particularly devastating for supporters and fellow artistes.
