Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, have successfully foiled a terrorist attack on a military position in Ngoshe, Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State, restoring control after a swift counter-offensive.

The attack occurred on March 3, according to Lt-Col Sani Uba, Media Information Officer at the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI.
Reinforcements were immediately mobilised from the Forward Operating Base in Pulka and the 151 Battalion to support troops under attack.
During the operation, a leading Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle hit an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), damaging two tyres. Despite the setback, troops pressed on and regained control of the location.
Lt-Col Uba confirmed that in the exchange of fire and subsequent pursuit of fleeing insurgents, troops recovered three AK-47 rifles and a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) barrel.

The successful counter-offensive underscores the ongoing efforts of the Nigerian military to secure the North East and combat terrorism, ensuring the safety of personnel and civilians in the region.
