Veteran Nigerian gospel singer Deborah Fasoyin has dismissed widespread rumours of her death, describing the claims as false.

The 86-year-old, known for her popular song Odun n lo sopin, reacted in a video shared on social media after the report gained traction across several platforms.
Fasoyin, a prominent member of the Christ Apostolic Church, assured fans that she is alive and in good health.
“Great day to you everybody, I’m happy to tell you that I’m hale and hearty, and what you’ve seen on Facebook is fake,” she said.
She added that she believes she will live a fulfilled life and pass on peacefully at an old age.

The clarification has since eased concerns among fans and followers who had been alarmed by the viral reports.
