Financial services company VeloRemit Limited has issued a public statement addressing growing concerns over resurfaced content linked to its brand ambassador, Kevin Chinedu Arua.

The company said the viral material, which has sparked accusations of tribal insensitivity, predates its relationship with Kevin Chinedu Arua and does not reflect its corporate values.
According to VeloRemit Limited, the content originated from a scripted comedic performance created several years before the influencer’s appointment as ambassador in March 2026.
VeloRemit Limited stressed that it does not condone tribalism, discrimination, or harmful stereotyping, reaffirming its respect for all Nigerian communities, including the Yoruba.
The firm acknowledged that the resurfaced material may be perceived as offensive and noted that public concerns are valid and taken seriously.
In what observers describe as a decisive response, the company confirmed it has engaged directly with Kevin Chinedu Arua to reinforce expectations around responsible and respectful public expression.
VeloRemit Limited said its partnership with the influencer is based on his recent professional conduct and advocacy work, which it claims aligns with its values of accountability and positive social impact.
