Adamawa Construction Site Alert After UXO Discovery in Michika prompts military response, area cordoned off after unexploded ordnance was found
An unexploded ordnance (UXO) has been discovered near a construction site in Adamawa State, prompting swift military intervention and the immediate cordoning off of the affected area to ensure public safety.

Unexploded Ordnance Discovered at Adamawa Construction Site, incident occurred on Monday at the new Mbege Ka Michika Palace project in Michika Local Government Area, where construction workers reportedly spotted a suspicious object near a tree.
According to security sources, the workers immediately alerted authorities after the discovery, leading to the deployment of troops from the 271 Battalion to secure the location.
The military subsequently restricted access to the area to prevent any risk to civilians while Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts prepared for safe removal and disposal of the device.
No casualties were recorded in the incident, and construction activities in the immediate vicinity were temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure.
