The prestigious ceremony is scheduled for June 6, 2026, at Oriental Hotel, with guests expected from Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Algeria, Egypt, and several other African nations.

Organisers said the Africa Illustrious Awards will bring together influential figures whose contributions in business, innovation, entrepreneurship, academia, technology, philanthropy, leadership, and public service continue to shape development across the continent.

A major highlight of the ceremony will be the special recognition planned for the legendary Nigeria national football team and the historic Nigeria Olympic football team for their outstanding achievements and enduring impact on African football.

According to the organisers, the honour is aimed at celebrating the legacy of both teams, whose remarkable performances inspired millions across Africa and elevated Nigerian football on the global stage.
