Bolanle Ninalowo condemns Jos killings, expressing heartbreak and calling for change after a deadly attack in Plateau State

Nollywood actor Bolanle Ninalowo has strongly condemned the recent killings in Plateau State, expressing deep heartbreak over a deadly attack on a community in Angwa Rukuba, Jos.

Bolanle Ninalowo condemns Jos killings in a statement shared on Instagram, following reports that armed Fulani gunmen opened fire on residents on Palm Sunday, leaving casualties and widespread distress.

The actor said he chose to stand as a voice for the people rather than align with any government, stressing that he could not remain silent in the face of suffering.

“The tragic events in Jos, Nigeria, broke my heart,” Bolanle Ninalowo said. “My hope is for change, not for political support. I cannot stand by and watch people suffer for any reason.”

He acknowledged that he may have made past comments that did not fully reflect his core values, but emphasised that the current situation demanded clarity and courage.

He added that Nigerians were bleeding and deserved urgent attention and relief.

The emotional statement has resonated widely, drawing reactions from across the entertainment and public space.

Actor Kunle Remi described a viral video from the incident as his “real birthday message” to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing hope that national leadership would grasp the weight of citizens’ suffering.

The incident has reignited broader concerns about insecurity across the country, with several public figures previously speaking out against violence and unrest.

Former Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike recently urged Nigerians to remain hopeful while criticising the state of governance.

Music star Davido has also, in past statements, decried attacks and kidnappings across parts of the country, calling for unity and an end to violence.

Similarly, actress Toyin Abraham highlighted the emotional toll such incidents have on families, particularly mothers, while Iyabo Ojo called for immediate and decisive government action to curb insecurity.

In a striking generational voice, Boluwatife Balogun also emphasised the refusal of young Nigerians to accept a future defined by fear.

As Bolanle Ninalowo condemns Jos killings, his message adds to a growing chorus of influential voices demanding accountability, urgent reforms, and a safer Nigeria.
