Rite Foods reaffirms support for Ojude Oba Festival 2026, highlighting commitment to culture, community growth and Ijebu heritage

Rite Foods Limited, a leading Nigerian food and beverage company, has restated its commitment to supporting the Ojude Oba Festival as preparations intensify for the 2026 edition in Ijebu-land, Ogun State.

The Rite Foods Ojude Oba Festival Sponsorship was reaffirmed at a press briefing where the company highlighted its long-standing partnership with the cultural celebration and its role in promoting heritage and community identity.

The 2026 edition of the festival is themed “Ojude Oba 2026: Celebrating the Legacy of Oba Sikiru Adetona,” in honour of the late Awujale of Ijebu-land, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona (GCON), whose reign is widely regarded as the longest in the kingdom’s history.

Organisers say the theme reflects his lasting contributions to cultural preservation, leadership, and socio-economic development in Ijebu-land and beyond.

Speaking at the briefing, Brand Manager for Fearless Energy Drink, Olaniyi Aderuku, said Rite Foods’ relationship with the host community extends beyond commercial operations.

“At Rite Foods, we believe our role extends beyond operating within a community. We must grow with the people, celebrate their identity, and contribute meaningfully to preserving their heritage,” he said.

Aderuku noted that the company’s Fearless Energy Drink brand aligns naturally with the festival’s cultural expression, describing both as symbols of ambition, creativity and confidence.

“As Nigeria’s number one energy drink, Fearless has always stood for courage, self-expression, ambition, and the confidence to push boundaries,” he added.

He also confirmed that festival participants will have access to a range of company products, including Bigi Carbonated Soft Drinks, Bigi Premium Drinking Water, Sosa Fruit Drink, Fearless Energy Drink, and Bigi sausage variants.

“We are not only investing in world-class facilities and technology; we are equally investing in people, culture, and community,” he said.

Coordinator of the Ojude Oba Festival Organising Committee, Professor Fassy Yusuf, described the event as a symbol of unity, cultural pride, and peaceful coexistence among the Ijebu people.

He said this year’s celebration will also honour the legacy of Oba Adetona while showcasing traditional institutions such as the regberegbe age-grade groups and the historic equestrian displays.

Ogun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Oluwasesan Fagbayi, who represented Governor Dapo Abiodun, described the festival as a key driver of tourism and economic activity in the state.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the festival and ensuring its continued growth as a cultural and economic platform.
