“The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the promotion of 17,952 junior police officers across various ranks in the Nigeria Police Force as part of ongoing efforts to enhance personnel welfare, boost morale, and reward diligence, professionalism, and dedication to duty,” the statement said.

It added that the promotions were implemented across different commands and formations throughout the country.

The IGP described timely Police Promotions as a vital component of the Force’s human resource management strategy, noting that career advancement remains an important tool for motivating officers to perform their constitutional responsibilities effectively.

According to him, the elevation of deserving personnel demonstrates the commitment of the current police administration to merit-based progression, institutional development and professional excellence.

“The advancement of deserving personnel reflects the commitment of the current Police leadership to merit, career progression, and institutional development,” the statement quoted the IGP as saying.

Disu congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to see their advancement as a call to greater responsibility and service.

He encouraged the beneficiaries to maintain high standards of professionalism, discipline and dedication while carrying out their duties.
