Rite Foods Limited’s Fearless Energy Drink has announced its sponsorship of “Chaos in the Ring”, the celebrity boxing event headlined by singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, and actor and comedian Charles Okocha, ahead of their highly anticipated rematch on Friday.

The bout will take place at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, where the two entertainers will revive a rivalry that began in December 2023 when they first met in the ring at Landmark Beach, Lagos.

Excitement surrounding the contest intensified during a pre-fight press conference, where Portable and Okocha came face to face in a tense stare-down that reflected the competitive atmosphere ahead of the event.

Confident of another victory, Portable reminded his opponent of their previous encounter.

“You don chop am before… you go chop am again,” he said, suggesting history would repeat itself.

Charles Okocha remained unfazed by the remarks and responded with equal confidence.

“This chicken leg… let’s see how it goes on Friday,” Okocha said.

Beyond the headline contest, the event will feature several other celebrity and professional bouts, including Idowest against Mr Real, Shiloh Defreitas of Great Britain against Eric “Kojo” Quarm of Ghana, Rilwan Lawal against Yusuf Adeniji, and Basit Adebayo of Nigeria against Said Chino of Tanzania.

The winner of the main event is also expected to receive a brand-new electric vehicle courtesy of EV Motors, adding another layer of anticipation to the spectacle.

Speaking at the press conference, Olaniyi Aderuku, Brand Manager of Fearless Energy Drink at Rite Foods Limited, said the sponsorship aligns with the brand’s identity of encouraging courage, confidence and determination.

According to Aderuku, the event provides another opportunity for the brand to connect with consumers through activities that reflect its “I CAN, I AM” philosophy.

Also speaking, Ezekiel Adamu, Group Chief Executive Officer of Balmoral Group, said the competition is designed to showcase African entertainment talent while creating opportunities for partnerships and growth within the sports ecosystem.
