Veteran Nigerian singer Daddy Showkey has urged Peter and Paul Okoye of P-Square to end their prolonged feud, saying the brothers’ dispute has damaged one of Africa’s most influential music brands and could leave a difficult legacy for their children.

Daddy Showkey made the appeal in an interview with Goldmyne TV that gained attention on Saturday, August 8, 2026, as he reflected on the responsibilities that come with building a successful entertainment career.
The music veteran said P-Square’s success belonged not only to the twin brothers but also to the millions of fans who supported their music over the years.
“P-Square destroyed the biggest brand that Africa produced. P-Square isn’t for them alone,” he said.
For Daddy Showkey, the dispute highlights a broader responsibility entertainers have towards the audiences that help establish their careers.
He argued that artists should consider the impact of major personal and professional decisions on the people who have invested emotionally in their work.
“As an entertainer I can decide to lock myself in my room and celebrate my 50 years on stage. I am celebrating because it is the people that made me Daddy Showkey,” he said.

“If the people have made you, you are not considering them but considering how much you guys are making,” he added.
P-Square, made up of Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye, became one of Nigeria’s most successful music acts after emerging from the early 2000s music scene.
Their energetic performances, dance-driven videos and string of commercially successful songs helped establish the brothers as a major force in African pop music.
The duo eventually separated amid a highly publicised family and professional dispute. Their elder brother, Jude Okoye, who had managed the group, was also drawn into the disagreements.
