Rotarian Layi Abidoye, District Governor of Rotary International District 9112, will host the Impactful Evening with the District Governor, EWDG 2026 to 2027, in Lagos as the district brings together Rotarians, Rotaractors, volunteers, corporate partners and friends of Rotary to celebrate service, recognise achievement and strengthen partnerships.
The event will feature awards and recognition for clubs, Rotarians, Rotaractors, volunteers and corporate partners whose contributions have supported Rotary’s service and community development efforts.

The recognition and sponsorship categories range from Platinum at ₦1 million to Impactful Volunteer or Rotaractor at ₦25,000. Other categories include Diamond at ₦500,000, Gold at ₦300,000, Silver at ₦200,000, Bronze at ₦100,000 and Impactful Rotarian at ₦50,000.
Joint sponsorship opportunities are also available for Club Presidents, while individuals and corporate organisations can participate under the applicable categories.
Organisers say the initiative is designed to strengthen fellowship, encourage partnership and enhance Rotary’s public image while supporting the delivery of a memorable and financially sustainable district programme.
The event will also contribute to activities connected with Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary celebrations.
The EWDG initiative comes as District 9112 begins a new leadership year under Abidoye, whose programme places emphasis on healthcare, education, youth development, emergency response and other areas of community service.
Abidoye has pledged to pursue practical interventions that can deliver measurable benefits to communities while encouraging Rotarians and partners to deepen their commitment to humanitarian service.
“With consistent action, shared responsibility and the Rotary spirit of Service Above Self, we will leave District 9112 stronger than we met it,” Abidoye said while outlining his vision for the 2026 to 2027 Rotary year.
The recognition programme is intended to give members and partners an opportunity to celebrate those who have contributed meaningfully to that vision.
