A non-political organisation, Assurance Grassroots Organisation, has empowered 120 residents of Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State with vocational equipment and safety materials.
The programme featured the distribution of 10 sewing machines, 60 motorcycle helmets and 50 knapsack sprayers to support beneficiaries in their respective occupations, promote economic self-reliance and enhance their capacity to contribute to community development.
According to a statement, the Chairman of the organisation, Yinka Alade, said the initiative was inspired by the need to support President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun’s ISEYA development agenda and the infrastructure development initiatives of the senator representing Ogun West, Solomon Adeola.
The empowerment programme was held in Ayetoro, Yewa North, and aimed at cushioning the effects of prevailing economic challenges while improving livelihoods in the community.
