The Independent National Electoral Commission has urged 116,745 newly registered voters in Lagos State to collect their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The commission’s Administrative Secretary in Lagos, Mrs Adenike Tadese, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday, November 6, 2026.

Tadese said INEC had received 177,295 PVCs belonging to eligible residents who registered during the first phase of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise in 2025.
She explained that the commission’s weekly update as of Monday showed that 60,550 cards had been collected by their owners, leaving 116,745 yet to be claimed.
According to her, the number of uncollected cards represents a significant proportion of eligible voters who need to obtain their PVCs to participate in the 2027 general elections.
Tadese said the cards were available for collection at INEC’s local government offices across Lagos State.
“The cards are available for collection by their owners, not by proxy, at the various local government offices of the commission in Lagos,” she said.
She urged stakeholders to mobilise both previously registered voters who had not collected their cards and residents who participated in the 2025 registration exercise to obtain their PVCs.
The administrative secretary appealed to eligible voters to collect their cards before the collection period closes ahead of the forthcoming elections.
She also disclosed that PVCs belonging to eligible residents who registered during the 2026 Continuous Voter Registration exercise before its closure would soon be ready for collection.
Tadese, however, advised registered voters to maintain orderliness during the collection process.
She reaffirmed INEC’s commitment to conducting free, fair and credible elections that would be acceptable to stakeholders across the state.
