A 22-year-old African-American man, Musa Kamara, has been arrested for killing his mother during a heated argument in their apartment in Lehman Village, East Harlem, United States of America.

According to the US police, Kamara shot his mother dead because she asked him to get a job so he can take care of himself. The New York Police Department confirmed Musa fatally shot Fatoumata Danson in the head after striking her in the eye in her 15th-floor apartment at Lehman Village Houses.

“He took off after the shooting and wound up on East 110th Street, where he randomly fired three times at a 29-year-old stranger who was simply trying to enter his home,” police said.

“Camara missed, and hit the building instead,” the sources said.

Police finally stopped him on Madison Avenue between East 108th and 109th streets. Once he was taken to the police station, he began acting bizarrely, removing all his clothing inside the cells.

He initially was taken to Metropolitan Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, but later charged with second-degree murder, according to police.

The police noted that the deceased, Fatima Danson, was a mother of eight who arrived in New York City more than 25 years ago.

Speaking to the distraught family about the incident, the deceased’s brother (Kamara’s uncle) says he wants no mercy for his nephew. When asked why Camara shot his own mother, Basangari said, “Because he’s a lazy bastard…and my sister told him to get a job, threw him out of the house…and this was his reaction.”

Basangari who spoke to the media said the family came to New York City from Gambia and Sierra Leone back in the mid-1990s to look for a better life, but Danson’s life was tragically cut short by her own son. “She always smiled and laughed,” describing his younger sister as a lovely woman who was kind to everyone.
