The e-naira webpage has been enabled by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) ahead of the digital currency’s formal debut on October 1.
Although the platform has been enabled no transaction are permitted as of yet.
The CBN launched the www e-naira.com digital currency website on Monday.
Mr Osita Nwanisobi, the CBN’s Director of Corporate Communications, verified the news to reporters.
He also stated that, despite the fact that the platform is now operational, no transactions would be allowed until the formal launch on October 1, 2021.
Already, the site has recorded over one million hits.
A cursory look at the website by our correspondent shows that only information on the work ability of the e-naira platform is on the website.
However, visitors are told to download the app on the app stores on Android and iOS.
