Reno Omokri, a social activist and former presidential adviser, has urged Nigerians to join a petition calling for President Muhammadu Buhari to be imprisoned once his term expires in 2023, after the new disclosures about the Lekki Toll Gate massacre of unarmed protesters.

The Lagos State Panel of Investigation, established by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, found the police and troops of the Nigerian Army guilty of murdering and maiming unarmed youths protesting illegal police actions and terrible governance in Nigeria.

According to the report, Major General Taiwo, who appeared before the Panel during the investigation, stated that admitted soldiers acted on the orders of former Army Chief of Staff, Lit. Gen. Tukur Buratai, who was said to have received orders from the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, President Buhari.

Prior to the release of the findings, the Federal Government, through the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, had repeatedly denied that anybody was killed when military raided the demonstration scene in a series of news conferences and press releases.

Regardless of the Federal Government’s position, the study provides clear proof that there was a massacre at the Lekki Toll Gate

And Reno Omokri, who worked as one of the aides of former President Goodluck Jonathan on public relations, vows that President Buhari must not go unpunished.

The US-based former presidential aide made the plea after singer, Davido shockingly took his social media handles on Wednesday begging Nigerians for funds.

Omokri tweeted, “I don’t need you to send me ₦1 million to prove you love me. All I need is for you to prove you love Nigeria by signing this petition to send Buhari to prison for the #LekkiMassacre of #EndSARS protesters here.

“In 4 hours Nigerians raised ₦114 million for @Davido. Now I beg Nigerians to show that we value human lives more than money by signing the petition to send Buhari to prison for l the #LekkiMassacre of unarmed #EndSARS protesters here.#BuhariForPrison2023.

“Stop saying ‘God go punish Buhari’. If we do nothing to bring Buhari to justice, he will escape. We are the ones God will use.
