The Ideato South Local Government Area Police Headquarters in Dikenafai, Imo State, was bombed by gunmen.
They used explosives to attack parts of the station and liberate the captives.
The Administrative Office, the Divisional Police Officer’s Office, and the reception desk were apparently destroyed by the explosives.
Pastor Bede Ikeaka, Chairman of the Ideato South LGA Interim Management Committee, expressed dismay at the occurrence.
Imo Police Command Spokesman Michael Abattam, a Chief Superintendent of Police, said he had not been briefed yet.
