Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, who is also the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Ogun East, on Monday, began a ward-to-ward tour in furtherance of his interaction and engagement with the electorate ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The exercise commenced from Ijebu North East Local Government Area of the state, with all the 10 wards of the council toured amidst fanfare.

The tour, which would also see Otunba Daniel and his campaign train stop at each of the 103 wards across the nine local government areas in Ogun East Senatorial District, came on the heels of his unprecedented Mega Empowerment Flag-off on Sunday 2nd October 2022 in Sagamu.

From Odosenlu to Igede/Itamarun through Imomo and terminating at Ibido/Idorunwo ward, Daniel and his large entourage were on Monday received enthusiastically with solidarity songs and jubilation by thousands of APC members and supporters as well as well-meaning residents.

The mammoth crowd relived Daniel’s outstanding performance as governor in all sectors, especially on the development of the rural communities via the provision of water, healthcare and educational institutions.

Speakers after speakers at the event eulogised Daniel and expressed confidence that he will provide quality representation when elected into the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly.

They recalled Daniel’s developmental strides at the grassroots level, when he served as governor for two terms, noting that his track records were capable of endearing him to the electorate.

At Momo, the stakeholders asked the former governor to bring the deplorable state of roads, including the bridge at Ehin Osun, to the attention of the authorities in the state.

On their part, the people at Igede and Itamarun specifically asked Daniel to facilitate the establishment of a secondary school as there is none in the vicinity.

Addressing the crowd, Daniel said he was excited by the massive support from the residents and promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him if allowed to represent Ogun East Senatorial District.

The APC senatorial candidate pledged to attract viable and people-oriented projects to every part of Ogun East towards improving a lot of teeming residents.

He noted that Nigeria was well endowed with abundant human and material resources but required good leaders to fulfil the dreams of its founding fathers.

Daniel pleaded with the people to exercise their civic responsibilities in the coming elections by voting for those that would engender good governance.

The campaign train also campaigned for the candidacy of APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as other candidates of the ruling party in the 2023 elections.
