An airline based in Lagos, Green Africa, which boasts of safe, reliable and affordable air travel to a much broader group of customers, is currently having its image battered over poor service.

Recently, unsatisfied customer updated his WhatsApp’s status with ‘In all you do, avoid GREEN AFRICA AIRLINE!!!’ and ‘In all your bookings, don’t book flights with @greenafrica. I don talk my own.’

Asked why such a scathing review, the customer revealed that the airline was currently frustrating his life.

“That airline don show me shege.

“To change flights, you will be asked to pay more than half the initial fare and they will keep increasing it,” he said vowing not to fall into their traps again.

Green Africa airline’s image is so terrible online, even popular social media commentator, Dr. Joe Abah, was discouraged. According to him, the reviews he has read on them are nothing to write home about, when asked if he would consider the airline.

“Yes. The reviews have not been good,” he responded.

“Sir, I’ve seen more than enough reviews to agree with your position,” another person wrote.

Green Africa is considered cheaper compared to other competitors, but according to one of its customers, ‘it’s you that will cry…’.

“I have never seen a very unreliable airline like @greenafrica please no one should bother booking o. They might look cheap but it’s you that you cry after after please refund my money,” she wrote on her Twitter handle, while a commenter claimed to have suffered the same experience.

Green Africa is a brainchild of an Osun State born entrepreneur, Babawande Afolabi, who according to the company’s official website was always fascinated with transportation.

The former investment banker at Morgan Stanley in 2022, where he had an exposure to the transportation sector, Afolabi was further galvanized by his interest in the space, which led to the idea of exploring a pan African value carrier based in Nigeria.

“He wanted everyone, including his teachers at Ambassadors College, Ile-Ife, to be able to hop on a plane at an affordable fare and chase their dreams.

“In view of this idea, he dedicated his time as an MBA at Stanford GSB to learning more about the airline industry and took up a Summer Associate role at American Airlines in Dallas, TX,” the website claims.

Email sent by Freelanews to the official media mail was bounced as at the time of filing this report.

“The group media only accepts messages from people in its organization or on its allowed senders list, and your email address isn’t on the list,” the response read.
