Nigerian singer, and Afropop superstar, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has shared his excitement at achieving his goal of headlining a concert in India.

The Mavin singer, who is currently on his much-anticipated Indian Tour, took to social media to share a video of an old interview in which he spoke about his dream to shut down India.

He added that he wants to take Afrobeats to the next level and expressed his desire to conquer India with his music.

“You see Afrobeats, I want to take it to the next level. I want us to get into the India zone. Why can’t we shut down India?” he passionately said in the interview.

Three years after the interview, the 23-year-old singer, known for his hit song “Calm Down”, has achieved the impressive feat of selling out a concert in Delhi, India.

Videos of the concert have been shared on the internet, and it’s evident that he captivated his Indian fans with his electrifying performance.

Sharing a video mash-up of the interview alongside scenes from the concert, Rema expressed gratitude to those who believed in his dream and to Indians for the love and support from the country.

“3 years later I did it! Thank you, India for your overwhelming love & my heart to those who BELIEVED,” he wrote.

The singer is set to shut down Mumbai on Saturday and Hyderabad on Sunday, following his energetic performance in Delhi last weekend.
