Femi Adebayo, a popular Yoruba actor, recently opened up about the immense effort he put into his latest film, Jagun Jagun.
In an interview, he revealed that he sold his properties to finance the film, as he preferred not to take loans from businesses or individuals.
While he acknowledged that Jagun Jagun was a multi-billion-naira project, he chose not to disclose the exact amount he invested in it. He admitted that his greatest fear is that his next production will not surpass the success of Jagun Jagun.

Femi shared, “Jagun Jagun is a multi-billion naira project and I can’t disclose the exact amount I spent on shooting it. I used the proceeds from Agbeshinkole to produce Jagun Jagun. I was determined to avoid getting funding from finance houses and individuals. At one point, I ran out of funds and because I believed in the project, I sold my properties. My worst nightmare is not being able to surpass Jagun Jagun with my next production.”
He also spoke about the challenges of building a warrior school from scratch. Femi said, “We had to overcome the challenge of purchasing the land for the warrior school. We wanted to own the land, and we even reached an agreement and made payment for it. However, the owner’s children changed their minds about selling the land. We had already built half of the school when they told us to stop. They were even willing to destroy everything we had built. This delayed us for almost a week, as we had to involve the police and local leaders to resolve the issue. Ultimately, we were allowed to shoot there but not purchase the land.”
When asked about his inspiration for Jagun Jagun, Femi explained, “I was inspired by the Nigerian youth and their environment. I wanted to convey a social message to the youth, while also embracing our cultural heritage.”
