Saka was replaced by Noni Madueke around the 60th minute at the Bay Arena. Madueke later won a penalty that Kai Havertz converted in the 89th minute, securing a 1-1 draw for the Gunners.
In a post-match interview, Arteta said the tactical change was intended to introduce a different threat from the right wing.
“I thought that we needed something else. Noni has been contributing and being a real threat and I decided to make the change,” he explained.
The Arsenal manager praised Madueke’s attacking qualities, noting that creating opportunities through bold dribbles and constant pressure is a key part of his game.
“It’s not surprising. That’s his greatest strength. He consistently attempts bold dribbles and poses a threat to opponents,” Arteta added.
