Barry Showkey, son of Fuji music legend Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, is set to release his new single “ROBOROBO” on May 15th, marking his return to the music scene

[dropcap]B[/dropcap]arry Showkey, the son of Fuji music pioneer Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, is gearing up to make a comeback with his new single, “ROBOROBO”. The track is scheduled for release on May 15th, 2025.

Balogun Adewale Akanji, known professionally as Barry Showkey, is following in his father’s musical footsteps, blending traditional sounds with a modern twist.

His father, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, or Alhaji Agba Barusati, is credited with inventing Fuji music.

Ahead of the release, Barry Showkey spoke of his father’s influence and guidance. “My father always told me, ‘focus on your own path, build your legacy, don’t depend on mine.’

That’s the energy behind ROBOROBO. It’s about authenticity, resilience, and rhythm.”

“ROBOROBO” will be distributed globally by Digital Music Commerce and Exchange (DMCE) across more than 30 digital music platforms.

Fans can find the single on platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Boomplay, YouTube Music, Audiomack, Deezer, TIDAL, Pandora, SoundCloud, TikTok, and Amazon Music.

Barry Showkey comes from a musical family; his younger brother, Barry Jhay, is also making a name for himself in the Nigerian music industry.

However, Barry Showkey is forging his own musical identity, creating a sound that pays homage to his roots while embracing a contemporary style.
