Bauchi mob attack leaves two men dead as police arrest three suspects and launch investigation into the killings in Warji LGA
Bauchi State Police Command has arrested three suspects allegedly linked to a deadly mob attack that resulted in the killing of two men in Bunga Hamlet, Warji Local Government Area of the state.

The command disclosed the arrests in a statement issued on Friday by Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Habib.
According to the statement, the incident occurred on May 7 after police received a distress call reporting a violent mob action in Bunga Hamlet, Dagu Ward, Warji LGA.
The victims were identified as Kabiru Idris, 30, and Ibrahim Samaila Danliti, 40, both from Gabanga Village in Warji Local Government Area.
Habib said the two men were riding on a motorcycle when they were allegedly pursued by a mob from Ningi Local Government Area shouting “thieves, thieves”.
“The victims, while riding a motorcycle, were pursued by a mob from Ningi LGA shouting ‘thieves, thieves’ until they were intercepted at Bunga Hamlet and subjected to severe beating, which rendered them unconscious,” the police spokesman said.
He added that police operatives rushed the victims to General Hospital, Warji, where a medical doctor later confirmed them dead.
Detectives attached to the command subsequently launched an intelligence-driven operation that led to the arrest of three suspects allegedly connected to the Bauchi mob attack.
The suspects were identified as Samaila Turawa of Gwada, Danbaba Haruna of Gwada, and Ubale Mai Kaji of Ningi.
Habib said the suspects are currently being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department and are assisting investigators, while efforts have been intensified to apprehend other fleeing members of the mob.
The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, condemned the shocking killings and ordered a discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Aliyu stressed that no individual or group has the authority to unlawfully take another person’s life, warning against jungle justice and mob violence.
The police command said calm had been restored in the affected community, adding that patrols and community engagement efforts had been strengthened to prevent a recurrence.
