Organizers of Big Brother Naija have announced that the season nine of the reality TV show will kick start in July 2024.

They made the announcement in a post shared on its official X account on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

This comes amid controversy over the failure of the season seven, Level Up edition’s sponsors to fulfil their promises to the winner, Phyna.

Recently, Phyna called out the BBNaija organisers and their sponsors over incomplete prizes, claiming she was yet to receive all the prizes and money promised to her.

Her allegation came after Multichoice announced auditions for the ninth edition.

The Practicioners of Content Creating, Skit-Making, and Influencers Guild of Nigeria (PCCSIGN) also highlighted the list of gifts allegedly owed to Phyna.

The guild urged Multichoice to help facilitate “the release of the prizes” from the sponsors.

In a series of posts via X, Phyna lamented the difficulties she has faced while trying to redeem her prizes.

The reality TV star wondered why Nigerians have remained silent on the matter.

Phyna had earlier rejected the new offers proposed to her by the show’s sponsors concerning her prizes.

Quidax had pledged to give Phyna 1 BTC as part of her prizes but were yet to fulfil their promise two years after.

The reality TV personality emphasized that among the unsettled dues, the most important one to her is the 1BTC owed by one of the sponsors, Quidax Global.

Phyna revealed that the value of 1BTC currently exceeds N90 million, expressing her determination to continue demanding it until she receives it.

Following Phyna’s recent outburst, they met with the reality star and offered her N13m which they claimed was the value of 1 BTC in 2022 when they made the pledge.

However, speaking in a video message shared via her social media page, Phyna said she rejected the offer and insisted that they gave her the 1 BTC which she said is now worth over N90 million.

She also insisted that the organisers of the reality show and their sponsors must give her tickets for a trip-for-two to Maldives which was also part of her prizes.
