Winifred Ebiye and the Rotary Club of Bourdillon Prestige marked a proud milestone with their inaugural in-person fellowship on 12 July 2026, fostering service and fellowship in Lagos under District 9112 guidance

On Sunday 12 July 2026 in Lagos, Charter President Winifred Ebiye of the Rotary Club of Bourdillon Prestige (Provisional) welcomed Rotary leaders, members and guests to the club’s inaugural in-person fellowship, ushering in a vibrant new chapter of community service in Nigeria’s commercial capital.

The gathering, held as part of Rotary International District 9112 activities, brought together experienced Rotarians and new members to strengthen bonds of fellowship and service following the district’s creation in 2024 from the former District 9110.

Ebiye expressed warm appreciation to District Governor Layi Abidoye for his confidence in the new club and the opportunity it represented. She also thanked Past District Governor Kamoru Omotosho and Past Assistant Governor Ayodele Faroun for their steadfast guidance during the formation process.

The Charter President further commended Assistant Governor and Club Development Chair Sandra Ovie for her dedicated support. She acknowledged the pivotal role of the parent club, Rotary Club of Ikoyi, under President Ehiogie Christopher, along with Immediate Past President Claire Omatseye, whose encouragement proved instrumental.

Special Project Advisor Past Assistant Governor Bala Yesufu, a seasoned Rotarian and former corporate leader, delivered an insightful address as guest speaker that offered practical wisdom and inspiration to those present.

“We are immensely grateful for the trust placed in us and look forward to delivering impactful service projects that uplift our community,” Ebiye told the gathering, capturing the optimistic spirit of the evening.

Past Presidents from the Rotary Club of Ikoyi and visitors from neighbouring clubs joined the celebration, adding depth to the milestone occasion. Notable supporters included Past Assistant Governor Umaru of Rotary Club of Ogudu GRA, who sponsored the club’s songbook, alongside other distinguished guests who contributed to the warm atmosphere.

Members of the new Bourdillon Prestige Rotary demonstrated strong commitment and teamwork that helped make the event a success. Organisers also extended thanks to well-wishers who attended in person or sent messages of support from afar.

This inaugural fellowship represents one of many anticipated milestones for the club, which joins a growing network of Rotary clubs across Lagos and Ogun states dedicated to humanitarian service, leadership development and positive community transformation.
