The incident reportedly began in the 54th minute after Mamore player Davi celebrated his team’s third goal by taunting members of the opposing team’s bench.
According to the referee’s report, the situation escalated when Uberlandia’s goalkeeping coach, Paulo Sérgio Dias Dos Santos, ran onto the pitch to confront the player.
The altercation subsequently developed into a widespread confrontation involving players and other team personnel.
Chairs and stretchers were reportedly used as weapons during the melee, while the referee’s account alleged that Uberlandia ball boys also joined the violence by throwing punches and kicks.
The match official, Drosghic Modesto, further alleged that he received death threats and other threats of violence from different individuals following the incident.
A police report was subsequently filed over the alleged threats, according to his account.
