A woman has been rushed to hospital after a ‘substance’ was thrown at her in a suspected acid attack in north London. Police say she was attacked during the morning rush hour on Kentish Town Road. Officers arrived to the scene shortly before 7am following reports a chemical substance may have been thrown at a woman. The victim’s condition is currently unknown. A woman working in the Owl Bookshop, near the incident, told LBC News that a customer said she watched a woman ‘collapse on the floor’. A police cordon is in place and the road is closed while emergency services investigate.
A police statement said: ‘Officers were called to Kentish Town Road a little before 7am this morning after a substance was reported to have been thrown at a woman. ‘London Ambulance Service were called and she has been taken to hospital; we await an update on her condition. The incident caused some disruption to roads.’
