Yusuf Bichi, the former Director-General of the Department of State Security (DSS), has reportedly been sacked, despite earlier claims of his resignation.
Sources indicate that Bichi, initially thought to have resigned after meeting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was actually dismissed from his position.
Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi has been appointed as the new DSS Director-General, replacing Bichi. Additionally, the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) has appointed Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed as its new Director-General.
Bichi was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari on 14 September 2018, succeeding Matthew Seiyefa, who had served in an acting capacity.
Further details on the circumstances surrounding Bichi’s exit and the new appointments are expected to emerge soon.
