Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources holds debut meeting, sets agenda for cleaner, greener Lagos

The Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources in Lagos State, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, wasted no time in getting to work, as he held his first management meeting today, September 19, 2023.

The goal of the meeting was to familiarise himself with the various agencies under his ministry and get to meet with the Directors, the Permanent Secretaries, and heads of the different agencies.

This move was aimed at gaining a comprehensive understanding of their mode of operation and identifying any areas that require immediate attention.

During the meeting, Tokunbo Wahab took the opportunity to outline the administration’s plans for a Cleaner and Greener Lagos in-line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES + agenda.

Note that emphasis on the environment is a core component of the THEMES + agenda.

The commissioner stressed the importance of the collective responsibility of all, in making significant contributions in the attainment of an environment that its cleanliness and greenery will be a proud to all Lagosians and visitors.

Wahab’s first management meeting set the tone for his tenure, with a view to making Lagosians benefit the dividends of the administration’s strides on the environment, from the outset till the next four years.
