Consumers Value Awards voting platform launched to let Nigerians rate brands and public institutions on value, trust and service delivery

BrandXchange, organisers of the Consumers Value Awards, in Lagos unveiled a nationwide Consumers Value Awards voting platform designed to allow Nigerians assess both private brands and public institutions based on real value, trust and service delivery.

Value’s for Consumers  Awards voting platform introduces a new Consumer and Citizen Value Scorecard, which will enable participants across the country to evaluate organisations using structured indicators such as pricing fairness, transparency, responsiveness and accessibility.

Speaking on the initiative, Convener Akonte Ekine said the new edition marks a shift away from traditional satisfaction metrics towards a broader definition of value that reflects real economic realities faced by consumers.

According to Akonte Ekine, many consumers who describe themselves as satisfied still experience concerns around affordability, service quality and being heard, adding that the updated framework aims to capture these deeper experiences in a more meaningful way.

The organisers explained that unlike conventional award systems decided by juries, the Consumers Value Awards remain fully driven by public participation, ensuring outcomes reflect real-life consumer experience and perception across sectors.

A key feature of the Consumers Value Awards voting platform is its expansion to include public sector institutions, a move the organisers say reinforces accountability beyond corporate organisations to government services as well.

The scorecard will assess value for money, trust, service delivery quality, responsiveness and inclusiveness, with results aggregated into a Consumer and Citizen Value Index expected to serve as a national benchmark for consumer sentiment.

Voting is scheduled to begin in June 2026, while nominations will be open to the public via the official portal, as organisers aim to strengthen accountability and encourage improved service delivery across industries.

Public Value Awards is currently in its fifth edition and continues to position itself as a consumer-led recognition platform focused on trust, performance and value delivery in Nigeria’s evolving economy.
