Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has praised Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy as one of the country’s positive global ambassadors.
In a video circulating on Monday, Dangote recounted his first visit to Grenada, where the first billboard he saw featured the artiste.
“The first time I went to Grenada, the first billboard that I saw was Burna Boy. These are our ambassadors, and this is what we need to be talking about,” he said.
Dangote added that Nigerians should focus on celebrating such positive representations rather than stories of citizens caught with drugs abroad.
“We should not be talking about somebody in Nigeria who was caught with drugs elsewhere,” he stated.
The comments have been widely shared online, with many users welcoming the industrialist’s recognition of Burna Boy’s international influence.
